Come join us at Headwater Community Farm for an afternoon of nature writing with local author Em J Parsley, who will be guiding us through the principles of observation, interpretation, and perspective in nature writing. No writing experience necessary, just bring a notebook, a pencil, and your love of the natural world!

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Em J Parsley (they/them, he/him) is the author of the award-winning poetry chapbook THE ANONYM GOSPELS (April Gloaming Publishing, 2024) and the novella YOU, FROM BELOW (Split Lip Press, 2025). They received their MFA at the University of Texas at El Paso, were the 2024 Writer-in-Residence at Wormfarm Institute, and received Granta Magazine’s Nature Writingscholarship in 2025. He is interested in combining his agricultural, ecological, and creative practices to participate in material change in his communities.
