Hatching a Plan

by Karen on October 24, 2012

Today’s horoscope for the sign of the rooster: Cooped up and brooding about how you’ve put all your eggs in one basket and it’s not all it’s cracked up to be? Well, you may have counted your chickens before they’ve hatched, but birds of a feather do flock together. Call on Jeremy at CLUCK! to coach you through the chicken-keeping process, so at least you know the pecking order and won’t get your feathers ruffled.

Translation: This is the time of year to start planning for the spring, especially if you want to have fresh eggs within steps of your home. But make sure you educate yourself so you aren’t too surprised later on. You’ve got help with Seedleaf’s partner, CLUCK!. Jeremy Porter takes the guesswork out of keeping chickens, so you and your neighbors can enjoy them.

Patricia Johnson (pictured with Jeremy at right) and her daughter Marykaye Wilson are great examples of responsible backyard chicken-keepers. They’d been given a doghouse from an old puppy mill, and wanted to renovate it to be a coop for birds that will arrive next spring. Jeremy spent a complimentary half hour answering their questions, making recommendations, and sharing their enthusiasm for all the joys of keeping chickens.

This is the time of year to plan for next spring, whether it’s building a run, researching breeds, or understanding regulations. Schedule your consultation by emailing porter.jeremy.r@gmail.com.
