This may be your last chance to get your hands dirty in one of Seedleaf’s gardens this year! Friday and Saturday, you can help prepare the garden beds for winter by harvesting, planting cover crops, mulching, and . . . chilling. Chilling? If you listen to the plants, they might say that the reward for working hard and being productive is taking a well-earned break. So we’ll follow their lead and share a snack and a warm beverage with our fellow gardeners before wrapping up the growing season.
Friday’s work happens at Withrow Garden from 10:00-12:00. Saturday’s is at London Ferrell Community Garden from 10:00-12:00, and at the North Pole Garden from 1:00-3:00. If it’s your first time, see this map to find your way.
And there’s no better time to learn how to preserve those great veggies you’re about to harvest. Join us for Yes, We Can! on Thursday, October 18, 6:00-8:00, at Epworth UMC at 1015 N. Limestone. Please RSVP by emailing ryan@seedleaf.org. We will ask for a $5 donation to help us cover costs for this event.
