In partnership with the Carnegie Center, we hosted a week long camp called: Urban Agriculture: Farmer for Week. Every day throughout the week, we meet at the London Ferrill Community Garden and learned about urban agriculture. Each day we focused on a particular aspect of urban gardening such as building and maintaining soil, water and why it’s such a valuable resource, plants and the how we harvest them, and even how our everyday food choices affect our impact on the earth. I personally had a blast. They were great kids to work and learn with throughout the week. They seemed to really enjoyed learning about edible weeds, designing their own dream gardens, and playing a variety of garden games. Thanks again to the Carnegie Center for recruiting these young urban farmers!
