Well, we hesitate to toot our own horn at Seedleaf, and yet, we were deeply honored this last week when the kind folks from the Kentucky Conference of Community and Justice (KCCJ) quite literally burst in on our board meeting to surprise us with the news.
Seedleaf has been chosen as the winner of the 2010 Humanitarian Award.
From the KCCJ website:
“The Humanitarian Award is given to an individual or organization whose life or work affirms the mission of KCCJ – to raise awareness and speak out for the just, fair and equal treatment of all people by promoting respect, understanding and acceptance through advocacy, education and empowerment.”
The list of past recipients of this award is long and esteemed, and we are deeply humbled to be included in this list. We are equally grateful to KCCJ for this accalade and sincerely hope we will continue to live up to it’s high standards.
We are very hopeful that you will all be able to join us in a night set aside for the award ceremony, where you’ll have a chance not only to hear us speak a bit in accepting the honor, but also learn more about KCCJ and the great work their doing.
The award ceremony will take place on April 6th, at Buster’s Billiards and Backroom. The reception will begin at 5:30 with the presentation beginning at 6:30. Visit KCCJ’s website to learn more and to register for the event!
Hope to see you there!
