Thanks to a lovely fall, we are still enjoying greens and lettuces at a few of our gardens. I wanted to share these pictures as a reminder of what a joy it is to live in a place where (at least some years) we can enjoy a fresh salad in December!
These photos (taken on December 9th) are of the garden at Sayre School. Lettuce, carrots, arugula, and mixed greens are holding up after our first frosty nights.
Turnip greens, arugula, and mixed greens still looking looking and tasting good at the London Ferrell Community Garden this past Monday morning (December 7th). Please help yourself to these–the gates are unlocked now.
At the Kids Cafe, the long-awaited broccoli is ready. Radishes are sizing up beside some baby lettuces. These veggies have benefitted from a row cover, as well as a building that shields them from the worst of the cold winds that have been blowing through.
